Exciting times with my Bronze Lion Executive |
Welcome to the university without walls! And this can only be found in TIENS!
We began to look at one thing that aids in massive sales yesterday and it is the issue of events.
If you are not on the African continent this might not be familiar to you.
In Ghana and is some countries, events really do help in pushing up sales. This is because, it connects you to a large scale of potential consumers at a go. Secondly, it gives you the opportunity to connect to an audience that listens to you on any health topic of interest. If done well, this is something that can shore up sales massively. The question is just how do you organize one?
To start with, the disclaimer I want to issue is that, as a TIENS distributor, events and health education programs are not necessarily part of the work, there are just a means to achieving the ultimate, so in doing it you have to take utmost care not to misrepresent yourself!
1. Identification of the market / audience
What I would say here is that, do not prejudge. It is a fact that with time, and experience you get to know a certain group of audience who are not keen on using our products, and this is something you will know for yourself. That notwithstanding, don't prejudge any group when you are finding a place for your event.
Simply identify the place and identify it well. In doing so, make sure the authority in your chosen location is spoken to about your mission to his "territory". You just cannot get up and start organizing an event in anybody's town, office, church, mosque, community or locality for that matter. That leads to the second thing to consider.
2. Speak to the authority over there.
Note that I didn't say, write to the authority, it is formal and best to serve a letter to the authority of the location for your event, but make sure you SPEAK to whoever is in charge. Avoid doing things through a middleman.
Middlemen will at best help you to serve the letter and get the permission to do the event, but please make sure you speak to the authority yourself, connect with the leader at the place.
Speaking to people has a way of making you connect with them in a very unconscious way and you receive some good will.
3. Introduce yourself properly
In connecting with the authority and in making yourself known, make sure you give a clear picture of who you are. Remember you are a TIENS distributor, whatever title you give yourself in the organizing of your event should be something you can DEFEND!
4. Go in with an information bait
A bait is put at the tip of hooks to catch fish, as you step into the area for your event, you definitely will go with a message that will cause people to come to your table, have a message!
Don't just enter there telling people to come and screen themselves, your message must answer the WHY question.
Don't also be a copycat! Don't attempt to walk in the shadows of anyone, calve a niche for yourself, make sure the health topic or issue you want to address is one you have mastery over. When you deliver your message well, it will serve as a very good bait why they aught to visit your table for screening.
5. Watch the environment
Since you are there to MAKE SALES, the environment is key!
If you are visiting a corporate organization, chances are that you will be given an office to do the screening. If you are visiting a church, chances are that you might use the church auditorium or the Pastor's office, if you are visiting a community, chances are that you will be in some open space.
Wherever you find yourself, make sure you are seen. Hang a banner somewhere if necessary.
6. Know exactly what you are there for
When it is time for the event and people start visiting your stand, know exactly what you are there for.
You are not there to pretend to be a medical doctor to be prescribing all sorts of drugs to people.
You are there to screen people (depending on which areas you want to focus on) and then recommend TIENS products which can help them.
Chances are that, even though you are there to screen people who seem healthy, sick people could visit you. When that happens, be careful what you say because it is possible that someone who is already sick might be on some medications already.
Care should be taken not to take them of their medications, that will put you in a situation where should anything go wrong, you could be liable to a crime of obstructing the work of a healthy personnel.
Always recommend, and if the client is a sick person on some medications already ensure to explain the purpose of supplements and how they work, don't take them off their medications.
When they get better hopefully and get to know how helpful the products have been to them, they will decide what to do themselves.
7. Keep accurate data
Records keeping is not a thing most people are good at, even nationally here in Ghana it is a major problem.
Please have someone to be in charge of taking records, these records will go into your database, organize them nicely into your name list and use them, follow up on them and ensure you don't leave anyone to a probability.
8. The team
For an event to be solidly done you will need at least the following
A speaker: This should be the person who will give a talk, or announce to the audience what you are there for. This person must be good at the art of communicating your purpose.
A dispenser: This is the person who will sit by the products and tell the clients what each recommended products does, this person must be carefully selected because they can make and unmake the success of the event, since our ultimate aim is to make sales, this person MUST be someone who knows the TIENS products and has the ability to also cause people to buy.
A "Doctor": So I have put the work doctor in parentheses because this person is the one who will explain the result of whatever screening is done and then recommend the products.
He or she will play the role of a doctor albeit not a medical officer, this should be someone who has studied just a little bit about what the screening is about.
9. Select your screening area
As you move, decide exactly what you are going to do. If you are going to use only the quantum analyzer as has been the case for most screening, well and good.
If you are going to be doing other forms of screening too, well and good.
All I am saying is carefully select exactly what you are going to do and do it well.
10. Lastly, know what you are there for. YOU ARE THERE TO MAKE SALES! PUBLICITY IS KEY
And then take advantage to prospect, don't leave the place without sales or potential prospects.
Because of that, ensure that you do PUBLICITY of your event very well.
Use all means possible and those available to you, information centers, radio stations, flyers, and all that you can marshal. As you do them, ensure you factor in the cost of all these, make sure you don't over spend as the event itself has not started yet, and you don't want to make losses!
Know that all the days are not equal, some days will go well, others won't.
If the place if far, put in place preparations for accommodation for the team, you don't want a frustrated team.
This is not all, there certainly will be something left out as every event is different.
Organizing an event in a village setting is different from organizing one in a city
I hope I have at least covered enough areas, hopefully, we might revisit this topic another time
On this note, I wish you the very best.
