Changing the phase of network marketing - Tiens trains lecturers

The multilevel marketing industry, is the most misunderstood business on the planet. The fact that this industry has genuinely produced the most millionaires hasn't curbed the misconception. In Ghana, a lot of other network companies have not survived beyond five years, some after a year and others, within months. Most of them too up emerged, ripped people of their hard earned Ghana Cedis and then vanished into thin air.

Tiens Group which has existed since its establishment 28 years ago has been in Ghana for the past two decades. Within these years, the company has changed the livelihoods of a countless number. The good aspect of this is that these people form a chunk of the over 47million households who make up the total global consumers and distributors of the company.

In Ghana, leaders of the company have taken steps to improve the quality and level of professionalism in the industry by constantly training its distributors.

It is in the bid to improve on the quality of its lecturers that a trainer of trainers program was held for its lecturers across the country. The three day program which was held at the Church of Pentecost Convention Center (PCC), Gomoa in the Central Region of Ghana. 

Participants arrived at the PCC on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 by 11am from all over the country. After registration, they were taken through an overview of the entire program and what shall be studied. There was also a round table discussion on why network marketing companies fail. The Head of Education and Training for the Teins Ghana, Mr Maxwell Okyere spent the rest of the evening educating participants on presentation skills.

The second day of the program saw already certified lecturers taking turns to demonstrate how product training is to be presented. This portion was for them to show forth their skills and to also give a clue to the uncertified lecturers on how products training are done.

After the role play, Mr Maxwell Okyere, took the time to educate participants more on presentation skills and why most networkers fail. It was a packed day as the Managing Director of the Ghana Head Office, Madam Lisa Lee visited participants. 

On the last day, uncertified lecturers took turns to do product presentation. They were peered reviewed after each presentation. This was meant to sharpen and hone their presentation skills. There was an intensive time of question and answers where participants had an opportunity to ask questions from the presentations and to also put forth questions that were encountered during field work. These were addressed and properly dealt with by the experienced Mr Okyere.

The third day of the event saw participants being given a short but incisive lecture on what network marketing is. He mentioned how the phase of network marketing has changed, and the method of just roaming to find "one time huge sales" is a thing of the past.

Most importantly, he schooled participants on how to create a clientele that would ensure repeated "packages". Lastly, he admonished them to attach a sense of importance and professionalism to the work.

In her short address, Madam Lisa Lee, the MD of the Ghana market encouraged the participants that the company had a lot of rewards in stock for distributors and urged them to continue with the hard work.
